The ex-Editor of NISSAT Newsletter (the forerunner of Information Today and Tomorrow), Ram D Taneja, passed away in New Delhi on 28th June 2000 at the age of 80.

He was born on May Day 1921. After the completion of schooling he joined University of Delhi and completed his B Sc and M Sc. In 1958 he proceeded to US to join Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York and completed his M S.

He joined Publications and Information Directorate of CSIR in 1949 as Technical Officer and served there for several years. He joined Indian Standards Institute (now called Bureau of Indian Standards) as Deputy Director (Publications) in 1962 and retired from there in 1981 as Deputy Director General. After retirement he undertook UN assignment in Middle East countries and served there till 1985. In 1985 he returned from Baghdad and engaged himself in various activities. He served INSA for two-three years, taught Technical Writing Course at INSDOC, and acted as editor of NISSAT Newsletter for several years.
