Technology Description

• Lamina Suspension Products (LSP) was set up for manufacture and sale of Automobile leaf springs near Mangalore in Karnataka state spread on an area of 7 acres
• The present production capacity of the unit is 12000 M. tons per annum. The company began exporting its products in 1989 and it is steadily making progress.
• The basic requirement for spring steel is that it should have sufficient hardening ability relative to leaf thickness to ensure a fully martensltic structure throughout the entire cross section of the leaf springs.
• At Lamina we use about 40 cross section of steel for manufacture of springs for domestic & export market. The tolerances for cross section of spring steel as specified in IS: 3431 1982.
• The success of the unit is mainly due to the emphasis laid on the quality of the products by the management for which we were awarded "The National Award for Quality" in 1987 from the Government of India and "The International Gold Star for Quality" from BIDS , USA . The unit is ISO 9001: 2000 certified.
