Selective calling communication equipment facilitates communication from controller to a group of stations and also station-to-station communication for optimizing the movement of trains.

In this system, tone signalling is used and hence it can be used on any communication media like overhead line, underground cable, fiber optic network and Microwave links. Signal and Voice go on the same communication lines and hence it is simple to implement.
